Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (shortened BITS Pilani or BITS) is an Indian institute of higher education and a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.[12] The university has 15 academic departments, and focuses primarily on undergraduate education in engineering and the sciences and on its management programme.

The institute was established in its present form in 1964. During this period, the institute's transformation from a regional engineering college to a national university was backed by G.D. Birla. BITS has established centres at Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.

Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra) is an Indian institute of higher education and a deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. It was established in the year 1955 at Mesra, Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand, India by the philanthropist and industrialist Late Shri. B. M. Birla. The institute was later headed by Late Shri G.P Birla and the present chairman of the board of governors is Shri C.K Birla.

The main campus at Mesra is a wholly residential campus. Following the establishment of the main campus in Mesra, extension centres have been established in several regions of India including Jaipur, Noida, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, and Deoghar as well as offshore centres in Ras al-Khaimah, UAE and Muscat, Oman.

Every year students are admitted strictly based on Merit[1] assessed by All India Rank(AIR) in JEE-Main-CSAB and AIPMT for its UG courses.

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), informally VIT University, formerly Vellore Engineering College is a private deemed university institute located in the outskirts of Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 1984, as Vellore Engineering College, by G. Viswanathan, the institution offers 20 undergraduate, 34 postgraduate, four integrated and four research programs. It has campuses in Vellore and Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh), and Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), India. N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice-president of India (then a Union Minister), participated in the foundation ceremony of the Amaravati campus of VIT.[1] Foundation stone for VIT Bhopal campus at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh was laid down by Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh) on 20 October 2016.

KSRM Institute of Science and Technology, or Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Institute of Science and Technology, formerly SRM University, is a deemed university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under University of Madras. It has 8 campuses, 4 in Tamil Nadu — Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Tiruchchirappalli and others in Delhi NCR, Sonepat, Gangtok and Amaravati.

The institute gained deemed status during the 2003-2004 academic year and was renamed SRM Institute of Science and Technology. It became SRM University in 2006 following the permission by the UGC for Deemed to be Universities to be called as Universities.[2] In 2017 it was renamed back as SRM Institute of Science and Technology following the UGC request to drop the "University" from the name.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education, formerly branded as Manipal University, is a private research institute deemed to be university located in the university town of Manipal, Karnataka, India. Manipal Academy of Higher Education has sister universities in Dubai, Mangalore, Sikkim, and Jaipur.[1] It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. In 1953, T.M.A. Pai founded India's first private medical school, Kasturba Medical College,[6]and five years later the Manipal Institute of Technology was formed. Ramdas Pai took over the management in 1979 after Pai's death. Initially all degrees were awarded by Karnatak University Dharwad and later Mysore University. From 1980 to 1993 they were awarded by Mangalore University.

Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE or R.V. College of Engineering, Rāshtrīya Vidyālaya Tāntrika Mahāvidyālaya) is a private technical co-educational college located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Established in 1963, RVCE has 11 departments in engineering, one school in architecture, and a Master of Computer Applications department.[1] It is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The undergraduate courses are granted academic autonomy by the university.[3]RVCE is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and all its departments are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).[4] The college has twinning programs and tie ups with many institutions across the world, as well as collaborations with the industry. The annual festival of the college is called 8th Mile which is the most awaited event in the annual calendar. The college is recognized as Centre of Excellence under Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) by Government of India. The students of RVCE operate many student projects, most notable being the ones supported by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and the ones which participate in the competitions conducted by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

M. S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS) is a UGC approved[1] Private University in India. It was created by an act in the State of Karnataka, India and was established in December 2013.

Within two years of establishment, the University has been ranked as one of the top 100 universities[5] in India issued by the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The University has been rated as a "Four Star" University under New University Category of Karnataka State University Rating Framework (KSURF)[6]. Under the KSURF ranking, MSRUAS remains as the only University to achieve "Five Stars" for innovation [7].

The University is separate from MSRIT M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology which is affiliated to VTU and M. S. Ramaiah Medical College which is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

The University is sponsored by Gokula Education Foundation (Medical) trust. The University was created by integrating the M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies (1999), M.S. Ramaiah College of Hotel Management (1993), M.S. Ramaiah College of Pharmacy (1992), M.S. Ramaiah Dental College (1991) and the M.S. Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre (2012). The campuses of the university is located at Mathikere and Peenya, Bengaluru, India.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), formerly KIIT University is an institute of higher education located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. The institution offers under-graduate and post-graduate courses in Engineering, Bio-technology, Medicine, Management, Law, Computer application, Rural management, Fashion, Film Studies, Journalism and Sculpturing. It was awarded the deemed university status in 2004 and renamed as KIIT University. In 2017 it was renamed to its original name following the University Grants Commission (UGC) request to drop the "University" from the name.

B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) is an autonomous engineering college in Basavangudi, Bangalore, India. The college, started in 1946 by B. M. Sreenivasaiah, was the first private sector initiative in technical education in India and is run by the BMS Educational Trust. It was affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University from 1998 to 2008, and became autonomous in 2008. BMSCE is located on the Basavangudi Area Bull Temple Road, diagonally opposite to the famous Bull Temple. Though a private engineering college, it is partially funded by the Government of Karnataka. BMSCE was founded in 1946 by B. M. Sreenivasaiah with 3 undergraduate courses (Mechanical, Civil & Electrical), claiming to be "the first private sector initiative in engineering education in India". Sreenivasaiah was followed by his son B. S. Narayan.

The University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) is an Indian University located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand known traditionally for its education and research in fields of energy & power. The University has been expanding its offerings in the sectors like Information Technology, Transportation, Public Policy, Design, Architecture, Business and Legal Studies.

UPES Dehradun, established through an act of the State 2003, is an endeavor of Hydrocarbons Education and Research Society. The University provides multidisciplinary and specialized courses in oil and gas, transportation, power, computer science, information technology, international business, logistics and supply chain, infrastructure, Public Policy, Design and Legal Studies. UPES is the only Asian University to receive the World Oil Award.

It became a part of the Laureate International Universities network in 2013.

Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, formerly Veltech Dr.RR & Dr.SR University, commonly referred to as Vel Tech, is an Indian higher education institute located in Avadi, Chennai. It was founded in 1997 by Col. Prof. Vel. Dr. R. Rangarajan and Dr. Sagunthala Rangarajan and was recognised as a deemed-to-be-university in 2008. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in engineering and technology, in addition to a Master of Business Administration

Veltech was initially constituted in 1997 as an engineering college affiliated to the University of Madras, with courses in computer science & engineering, electronics & communication engineering and electrical & electronics engineering. From 2001 the college was affiliated to Anna University. The college was recognised as a deemed-to-be-university in 2008

Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management (SRCOEM), formerly Shri Ramdeobaba Kamla Nehru Engineering College (SRKNEC), is a college in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. It is an autonomous institution affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution and NAAC Accredited with 'A' grade. The college was established in 1984 by Shri Ramdeobaba Sarvajanik Samiti trust. The college was granted academic autonomy from the session 2011-12. All engineering programs of the college are NBA accredited (Washington Accord). A new campus which includes a sports complex is under construction in Mohali village, 35 km away from Nagpur. The sports complex was inaugurated in 2017

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research university in India. The university is spread across five campuses in three states of India - Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, with the University headquarters at Ettimadai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The university is managed by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math.

The Amrita School of Engineering at Ettimadai, Coimbatore predates Amrita University. In 1994, when it was established, it became the first Amrita institution for higher education. In 2008, the school celebrated its thirteenth "Institution Day".

The other two Engineering Schools are at Bengaluru, Karnataka and Kollam (Amritapuri), Kerala.

Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed to be University) at Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India, founded in 1987 as Sathyabama Engineering College by Dr. Jeppiaar. It was formerly known as Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST). It is a group of Jeppiaar Institutions. The Institute is headed by Mrs. Remibai Jeppiaar. It is a Christian minority institution.

The Ministry of Human Resources Development declared the college a 'Deemed University' on 16 July 2001 and as a 'University' on 13 September 2006, under Section 3 of the UGC Act.

The university is in Sholinganallur about 15 kilometers from Adyar in Chennai. It has a sprawling campus of 134 acres. The university is located on Rajiv Gandhi Salai (formerly known as Old Mahabalipuram Road and popularly known as IT Corridor).

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), informally Hindustan University, formerly Hindustan College of Engineering, is an institute deemed-to-be-university of engineering headquartered in Chennai, India. It was founded in 1985 by K. C. G. Verghese and was granted deemed-to-be-university status from the University Grants Commission in 2008. It is a member of the Hindustan Group of Institutions which also includes the Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology, KCG College of Technology, Hindusthan College of Arts and Science and more. The campus is situated in the south eastern suburb of Chennai, Padur. The institute is on the main arterial road Rajiv Gandhi IT Highway (also called Old Mahabalipuram Road). It is close to SIPCOT IT park, Siruseri which is about 25 km from the Chennai City and is also accessible by East coast Road through Kovalam.

Acharya Institute of Technology, or AIT, is a private co-educational engineering and management college in Bengaluru, India, affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology, Pimpri, Pune, was established as Dr. D. Y. Patil Women's College of Engineering in July 1998. Bangalore Institute of Technology is an engineering college offering undergraduate and graduate engineering courses, affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum located in Bangalore. The institution came into being in August, 1979 under the auspices of Vokkaligara Sangha, Bengaluru. BIT is currently affiliated to VTU. Bangalore Institute of Technology was the first institute to introduce a full-fledged Computer Science and Engineering course in Karnataka.[2] It is recognized by the AICTE and has been accredited by NBA.[3] At present BIT offers 9 undergraduate, 10 post graduate and a PhD course(s) with a student body of more than 4000.

Amity University, Noida is a private university located in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The university additionally operates Amity Law School, Amity Business School, Amity Global Business School, and another law School in its name which is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in New Delhi.

Amity University was accredited by the NAAC (National Accreditation and Assessment Council) with grade A in 2012.

The university is part of the Amity education group which operates private universities and other educational institutes in India as well as eight international locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and London, as well as China, Mauritius, Romania, Singapore and South Africa. In 2016, Amity bought Long Island campus of St. John's University in New York City for US$22 million (£18 million).
